WHAT CAUSES NAIL PROBLEMS?

There is usually nothing serious that causes nail problems. Brittle, loose nails that change color or shape are common nail problems. Your nails may change over time
Nails are expected to:

  • Become more brittle or thicker as you age
  • After 6 months of having a baby, they should be healthier (they should become harder or softer during pregnancy)
  • When injured, the nail changes color, becomes loose, and eventually falls off
  • After an injury, fingernails should grow back within six months. It can take up to 18 months for toenails to grow.

Things to do by yourself

It can take a long time to cure infection 100% and will require many rounds of treatment. If at all it happens, complications include extreme nail damage, permanent loss, or infection spread. There are chances of developing cellulitis as well.
